OPC Manufacturer Seminar
Overview
This two-day seminar offers potential manufacturers of OPC products the opportunity to familiarize themselves efficiently and successfully with OPC technology. The seminar draws on ten years of experience in the development of OPC products. Basic OPC technology and OPC specifications are explained in a practice-oriented manner.
The main focus is on the Data Access specification for DCOM and XLM. Other specifications, security settings, performance assessments and sample applications are also presented in detail.
Participants will be given ample opportunity to gain practical experience. The first day of the seminar Introductory seminar ) will focus on explaining the specifications. The second day ( Advanced seminar ) will be devoted to the development of a Modbus OPC server and the creation of Excel OPC clients.Content
- Introductory overview of OPC (history, concept, significance)
- Presentation of technological fundamentals (DCOM, XML, Web Services and .NET, etc.)
- Comparison between OPC and existing solutions(proprietary drivers, DDE servers)
- Explanation of current specifications(OPC Data Access 2.0x, 3.0, OPC XML Data Access 1.0, OPC Data eXchange etc.)

Target group
The seminar is intended for potential manufacturers of OPC products - technical managers, development managers, developers and product managers.
Requirements
Participants should have basic programming knowledge to be able to follow the general processes of the server and client applications that are presented.
Execution
The seminar will be held in small classes of no more than 6 people (up to 8 people if there is great demand).
