The FOUNDATION fieldbus is a fieldbus standard oriented primarily on the requirements of process automation. It is the most functionally complete fieldbus solution for this area of application. The High Speed Ethernet (HSE) specification expands FOUNDATION fieldbus to include an Ethernet-based protocol variant which integrates harmoniously with the overall architecture.

A member of the Fieldbus Foundation since the very beginning, Softing was involved in the specification of the H1 and HSE standards. Softing is a member of the FF Technical Steering Committee and the American, European and Chinese Marketing Committees. More than half of the certified hosts and about half of the certified field devices use FF technology from Softing.
