License Overview for Softing OPC Products

Softing OPC products can be downloaded as demo versions from Softing's web sites or installed directly from the supplied Installation CD. You can start and use the OPC product in demo mode without activating a license key (temporary license or product license) or connecting a dongle (USB Hardlock, Softing interface).

To activate the OPC product for a limited or unlimited time, enter a temporary key or product license key in the Softing License Manager.

Demo mode:

The OPC product runs with full functionality in demo mode. There are no limitations on the number of connections or data points you can use. When the demo period expires, the product shuts down and can be restarted.

Temporary licenses:

When you have activated a temporary license in the Softing License Manager, you can use the full functionality for the specified period starting from the date of activation. The temporary license period cannot be extended. On expiration, you can either activate the product license or use the product in demo mode.
